WWE opens Central Florida training center (Twitter story)

Richard Bilbao

The WWE Performance Center opened July 11, 2013.

World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. opened its 26,000-square-foot training facility in Orlando on July 11 to media, public officials and fans.

WWE (NYSE: WWE) Executive Vice President of Talent and Live Events Paul Levesque, also known in the WWE as Triple H, was on site to give the tour of the facility alongside Florida Gov. Rick Scott.

(Side note: Scott asked Levesque is he still had time to become a WWE star, to which Levesque hesitated a second and said "Sure, you can." It garnered a few laughs.)

The facility will be the home for 75 WWE athletes as well as additional support staff.

The new WWE facility includes:

? In-ring Training Room: A 12,000-square-foot room equipped with seven training rings including one "show ring" that has all the theatrical lighting and broadcast capability used in most of WWE's live events.

? Sports medicine and rehabilitation room: Athletes can get on-site medical care from doctors, athletic trainers and physical therapists experienced in common injuries from the sports.

? Strength and Condition room: A 5,500-square-foot strength and cardio center with world-renowned strength coaches on site to help athletes enhance their skills.

? Edit and production suites: Cutting-edge rooms with pre-tape and voice over capabilities that can help athletes hone their performance skills, watch and playback and also transmit those recordings to WWE's live shows.

Most impressive is the facilities ability to connect to the company's headquarters in Stamford, Conn., said Levesque. "Athletes can record here and we can watch and critique those athletes live from Stamford."
